Why History

Short answer: Why not?

History is a singular thing that connects every single thing in the universe from now all the way to the beginning of time. It is multi-threaded. It is never linear, only perceived as such because we understand time in a linear way. History helps us understand who we are, why we are where we are at, why we speak the language we speak, why we think the way we think, why we believe the things we believe. History helps us to see the future and possibly alter it, if we are wise enough.

I’ve been asked on several accounts why I posted a historical figure of the day. Honestly, I don’t know. It just seemed like a cool thing to do. I never really wanted it to be any more than a quick set of posts and a quick list of facts–and that is just what is was. Originally, I wanted it to be something that lasted a month, but I’m satisfied with the 10 days and 8 people profiled. Eventually, each will turn in to a full post. For now, this is enough.

I still plan on adding one every now and then but I really don’t want to commit to anything at this point. If you really want to dig into more, look into taking a class at your school. If funds are tight, search for “history” in the iTunes music store’s podcast directory.

I know I’m a nerd and I plan on posting more nerdy things but I’d love to hear more of your thoughts on this.
