The Quick and Dirty

  1. He was a student of Aristotle where his knowledge and interests grew in science, philosophy, and the arts.
  2. Alexander’s father, Philip II, King of Macedonia was assassinated in 336 BC. At this point Alexander inherited the thrown making the king ruler of the [known] world.
  3. Later in his life, he began to believe he was a god. He would command his cities to worship him as such.
  4. His rule came to a close at his death in 323 BC. He was 33 years old.
