This post is dedicated to the one and only Asa Davis.

The Quick and Dirty

  1. Rob Roy Macgregor was a Scottish cattleman turned outlaw who lived from 1671 to 1734.
  2. His career as an outlaw began after an assistant ran off with money paid to him from the Duke of Montrose, causing the deal to go sour.
  3. He is oftentimes referred to as the “Scottish Robin Hood” for his participation in raids against his former creditor and in several Jacobite battles of the era.
  4. In recent times, a tasty drink made with Scotch Whisky, Sweet Vermouth, and optionally (but suggested) a splash of Bitters.
