10K Apart

Microsoft and EAE have teamed up to pose one hell of a challenge to the web community: build the best web app you can in 10K or less.

It’s time to get back to basics — back to optimizing every little byte like your life depends on it. Your challenge? Build a web app in less than 10 kilobytes.

The rules are simple:

  1. Total file size (including images, scripts and markup) must not exceed 10K
  2. HTML5 is encouraged and all apps must work in IE9, Firefox and Webkit
  3. Use of jQuery, Prototype, and Typekit (via CDN) will NOT count agains your 10K budget

There already are submissions coming in. What will you build?
